September 12, 2013 New Orleans, Louisiana (WWLTV) – The New Orleans Police Department is looking for Shawn Peterson, a person of interest in the shooting deaths of an NOPD dispatcher, her adult son and daughter.
The victims were found shot to death inside the garage of a home in the 4400 block of Jeanne Marie Place in Gentilly late Wednesday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The Advocate is reporting that online records show Peterson has a long history of violent crime that goes back to his teen years, including attempted second-degree murder and felon in possession of a fire arm.
Relatives told Eyewitness News Shawn Peterson is the father of one of the victims.
The victims were identified as a 39-year-old woman, who works for the NOPD as a dispatcher, along with her 20-year-old daughter and 18-year-old son. A relative identified them as Christine George and her two children, Tresa and Leonard George. Police say Christine George has been a complaint operator since 2009.
Officer Garry Flot, a New Orleans Police Department spokesman, said the three victims were found in the home, after a call came in just after 11 p.m. Wednesday night. Flot said the victims were found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victims were found inside the garage of the home on Jeanne Marie Place, between Paris Avenue and St. Bernard Avenue, off of Mirabeau Ave.
Superintendent Ronal Serpas was on the scene of the triple murder, but he did not speak to reporters.
This is the second tragedy to hit the NOPD involving a dispatcher, in just a matter of days. As Eyewitness News reported Tuesday, NOPD communications dispatcher Paulette Brown is hospitalized on life support, critically injured by a suspected drunk driver, who hit her Saturday night
