Houston Police are searching for Two Black suspects sought in home invasion – Texas

August 5, 2013 Harris County Texas – Neighbors near the scene of a violent home invasion last month remained on edge while investigators hoped surveillance video of the suspects would help lead to an arrest.

The incident occurred on July 16 at a home located in the 11700 block of Abby Ridge Way.

According to detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was leaving his house and had left his garage door open. Surveillance cameras recorded video of the two male suspects walking in through the garage.

Moments later, they kicked open a door and entered the house.

“He said freeze and I was like sir,” said Noah Rankin, the homeowner who was alone at the time. “And he was like where’s the money at.”

Rankin said he told the men he did not have any money. That’s when one of the men who was brandishing a handgun fired the weapon.

Rankin was grazed in the head.

“I felt like I was in danger and they tried to kill me,” added Rankin. “It just wasn’t my time.”

Rev. Charles Banks lives in a home directly across the street. He watched the video on a cell phone and called what happened unthinkable.

“It could have been anybody in that house,” said Banks. “It could have been somebody’s elderly grandmother in that house. It could have been anybody in that house and they walk in brandishing guns.”

The suspects were last seen fleeing the area in a light blue Dodge Caravan.

CrimeStoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).
