August 4, 2013 Friendswood Texas – Three black youths are in custody following another reported burglary in a Friendswood neighborhood.
The most recent alleged break-in happened Saturday a little before 6pm. Police tell us a home in the 12000 block of Merriewood was the target.
A woman was home when she says she heard a noise coming from the master bedroom. When she went to check it out, she reportedly saw a man removing the screen from the window. Police say the woman banged on the window from the inside and the man ran away.
At around the same time, authorities say a neighbor was calling police about a burglary. It was the same neighbor who reported a burglary back on July 5. In that instance, a man and woman — Demond Jermeil Momon, 21, of Houston and Tierra Nicole Allen, 20, of Humble — were arrested and charged.
That neighbor told police the suspect removed the screen from the same window that burglars entered the previous time to get in.
The witness was able to give a description of the suspects and possible getaway vehicle, a gray Mercury Mariner, which police say was parked in the 1400 block of Merriewood.
A Friendswood officer noticed the vehicle and started pusruing it as it got on I-45. The vehicle was pulled over just south of FM 646 with the help of DPS and League City police.
Bria Smith, 19, of Houston; Himel Johnson III, 24, of Houston; and Cleveland John Batiste III, of Houston, were taken into custody and the alleged getaway vehicle was towed.
Johnson is charged with Burglary of a Habitation. His bond is set at $25,000. Smith was charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Possession of Marijuana. Her bond is set at $11,000. Batiste is charged with Burglary of a Habitation. His bond is set at $10,000
