August 2, 2013 London England – The images show two suspects approaching the 28-year-old victim before one suddenly swings a punch at his face, leaving him in extreme pain with a fractured cheekbone.
The incident happened a few minutes after midnight on Wednesday 31 July as the victim listened to headphones while he waited at a bus stop outside 78 Kingsland Road E2.
CCTV footage shows two males, both black and wearing hooded tops (one with the hood up, one down) meeting moments before near the scene.
They walked away from the area of the nus stop before turning back.
The suspect with his hood down then swung back his arm and punched the victim full in the face.
The victim collapsed to the ground and tried to scramble away. The suspect stepped towards him before turning and running back along Kingsland Road.
At the time the other suspect tried to grab a mobile phone from a woman, aged 24, also waiting at the bus stop. She managed to hold onto it and he made off empty-handed.
The victim was taken to the Royal London Hospital and discharged after treatment for his injuries.
